This week I have four weddings to photograph! it all starts with this gorgeous pair that got married at Fonmon Castle in The Vale Of Glamorgan on Friday! It rained and it rained and it rained! but it didn’t matter one bit. I haven’t had a rainy wedding to photograph at Fonmon before, so I was kind of pleased that we were forced by Mother nature to stay inside and use the gorgeous castle interiors for so many photographs! Louise looked incredible walking down the aisle to meet her groom, as always, such an amazing moment to capture.

After torrential rain for hours, the skies finally cleared and we were able to go outside! I absolutely love the rich greens the surround the castle walls, so pretty. It’s almost 1am, and i’ve finally chosen a selection of images from their day to share with you all! The editing is really pilling up now, it is the middle of July after all – more late nights ahead, enjoy! ~ Sian

MELISSA & JAMES - HENSOL CASTLE WEDDING

Melissa & James – Hensol Castle

8th July 2017

On Saturday I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Mel & Jimmy tie the knot! It was slightly overcast which was perfect (for photography!) and a little cooler than it has been recently which was also ideal! Mel & Jimmy got married in a beautiful church just outside the centre of Cardiff. It’s a church I have never been to before and always driven past and thought about how pretty it is and how I’d like to capture a wedding there one day.  It was a very colourful wedding! There was a mix of colours in the bouquets, the grooms mens ties, the table decorations and a cake to die for!

After the service, a red double decker London bus took the guests to Hensol Castle where they were to celebrate the rest of the day – lots of beer and prosecco for the journey too! At Hensol Castle everyone was welcomed with more drinks, this really helped to get the party started. It was clear that Mel & Jimmy were surrounded by their loved ones as there so was so much warmth and happiness filling the rooms of the castle.

Not long before I left, I took Mel & Jimmy to the jetty on the lake to have some time out together before the evening party started. I must be honest I do love photographing each ‘section’ of a wedding day. But one of my favourite parts of the day is when I whisk the couple away for 20 minutes in the evening to create some beautiful images of them together.  During the Summer months the air is cooler at this time and if we’ve been lucky to have a sunny day, we have a sunset and soft low light to work with. But most of all, it’s important that they get this time together just to have a breather and talk away from the guests, just for a short time. The day goes so quickly, and in such a flash, that they wouldn’t get this precious time If I did’t suggest it.

I have gone through the day’s images and chosen a few to share! Enjoy.

St Fagans e-shoot - Paige & Rhys

I am delighted to be photographing Paige & Rhys’s Welsh wedding at Rosedew Farm this Summer. Their marriage will take place at Bethesda Chapel in Dinas Powys, then the rest of the day’s celebrations at Rosedew Farm in Llamtwit Major. We went to St Fagans earlier this month to capture some beautiful images ahead of the wedding in August. It was a warm Spring morning and there was so much colour!

Here is a selection of what we did!

ENGAGEMENT SHOOT CARDIFF - GEMMA & ANDREW

In eight weeks, I will be flying out to Italy to photograph Gemma and Andrews wedding. They will be declaring their love for one another in a beautiful castle at Lake Garda! We went out one evening this week to capture some images before the big day. It was quite warm and sunny during the day and unfortunately by the time we met for the shoot, the sun had gone behind the clouds and it was a bit chilly! But that didn’t matter as we walked through Alexandra Gardens in the centre of Cardiff. The blossoms were such a stunning backdrop for the couple. We’re very excited for the wedding now!
